Remembrance Fuels Reformation

Nehemiah 7:4-73

Anniversaries are opportunities to remember. We take stock of the past so that we may move forward encouraged.

Nehemiah 7 recalls the names of the people of God returning from exile decades before under Ezra. Here is a call to remember who we are as the people of God so that we may be strengthened in the work we’re called to.

Our primary purpose is to worship God; we are a people who delight in reverent communion with God, fellowshipping with him, drawing near to him with our hearts. Christ is our great example, who was consumed with zeal for his Father’s house. We ask to be more like Christ in this priority for worship.
